Experienced Project Manager & Instructional Designer…
with a passion for education, healthcare and technology.
I currently work as an independent contractor for iDesignEDU, LLC as an instructional designer / technologist. iDesign supports private and public colleges and universities in building online and hybrid courses through Canvas LMS. My role involved building modules, quizzes, discussion boards, assignments, and rubrics within the LMS with CSS and HTML client-specific styling. I also supported faculty who hosted live lectures over Zoom with attendance reporting, download videos and editing to post for students who were unable to attend.
I previously worked as an instructional designer at the University of Arizona in the Office of Digital Learning. In this role, I supported Arizona Online General Education courses within the D2L Brightspace LMS. This included building HTML and CSS content, creating graphic assets, creating interactive videos using PlayPosit and Adobe Premium, creating eLearning content with Adobe Captivate, and building quizzes, rubrics, and discussion posts directly in the LMS.
I currently work at HealthTrio, LLC as an Implementation Project Manager. I started at HealthTrio in the Product Management Department where I worked on internal company projects. Internal projects utilized Scrum / Agile Methodologies. For these projects I was acting as Scrum Master by facilitating daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint review meetings, and sprint retrospectives. Due to business needs and growth, I transitioned to an Implementation Manager position with the Implementation Services Department, where I work with new clients on complete portal implementations. For new client implementation projects we tend to have a hybrid approach to project management. Early stages of the project follow a more traditional waterfall approach, but as we get to development and testing it evolves to an iterative / agile approach.
I previously worked as a Project Manager / Scrum Master at the University of Arizona in the College of Medicine Information Technology Services department. In this position I managed the implementation of a new learning management system. The project utilized Scrum / Agile Methodologies. Given this approach I acted as the Scrum Master by facilitating daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint review meetings, and sprint retrospectives. Additionally, I worked with various stakeholders on defining requirements, mocking up feature screens, writing training guides with SnagIt annotated screenshots as reference. Additionally, I created training videos.
In my free time, I enjoy learning new graphic design and illustration skills. I’ve designed several logos for various groups and businesses. Also, during my undergrad, I interned as the Lead Marketing Intern for LGBTQ Affairs at the U of A, where I had the opportunity to design flyers and advertisements for social and educational events.
I also enjoy learning how to create websites and content using HTML and CSS. Luckily, I have been able to incorporate this hobby into my jobs! UI and UX design is also a new interest of mine. In my current jobs, I like to envision how the user experience could be improved by redesigning the user interface of products/features/apps or how to better design eLearning content.
